The parkland at Thorp Perrow

Accessibility

We endeavour to make the Arboretum as accessible as possible, however some of the terrain is unsuitable for wheelchairs or those with restricted mobility. You can find disabled toilets located at the Tearoom and the Bird of Prey Centre.

Visitors with limited access are welcome to be dropped off directly outside the entrance before parking. You can also find designated blue-badge spaces in our Arboretum Car Park.

We have a mobility scooter available for hire, priced at £5.00 for 3 hours. Please contact the Tearoom if you would like to book.

Dogs

We love dogs here at Thorp Perrow, but ask that they are kept on a lead at all times.

Dogs are not permitted inside the Tearoom (but can join you in the outdoor seating areas), the children's play area, or the Bird of Prey and Mammal Centre. Please use the areas provided to secure your furry friend whilst you visit these facilities.

Weather

Thorp Perrow Arboretum is home to one of the finest collections of trees in the North of England, including many mature and ancient specimens. While these trees are a spectacular sight, high winds can pose a risk of falling branches or damage within the Arboretum. To keep our visitors, staff, and volunteers safe, we have a high winds policy in place to guide decisions during periods of severe weather.
